The best music you’ll ever dance to. It’s become our “tag line” but we owe it to all to a New York Post reporter who called us New York’s “best kept secret” and said we played “the best music you’ll ever dance to” back in 1986 when we were still playing clubs in the Manhattan... before we evolved into one of the most highly sought-after resources for dance music in the tri-state area and beyond. Get to know us. We’re Doug Winters Music and our flagship band is Best Kept Secret (often known as BKS.)

The press seems to like us. That’s why this site continues with a Modern Bride feature, in which Marcy Blum, long considered one of New York’s finest event planners and wedding consultants, called us “the hip alternative to the staid society bands,” in a five page feature. This fall Modern Bride followed up by including BKS in its list as one of “the country’s top band companies.”
New York Magazine’s Summer 2008 Wedding Issue says “Doug Winters’ band, Best Kept Secret, has seasoned studio musicians that get A-listers moving with standards from Tony Bennett to Alicia Keys.”
In this new site we’ve included actual live video clips showing a bit of our stylistic range, a “BKS “family” photo gallery, bios of the musicians and much more...all presented in what we hope you’ll find to be a user-friendly and delightful cyber-package. It’s definitely not your ordinary website...our mission was to “invite” you to find out a lot more about us.
